Weekly Post : Week 12

Lectures:
There is no lecture this week.

Tutorial/Practical:

This week I focused on completing the google slides that we are required to fill in and getting used in doing animation.

At first, I was deciding whether to animate my project using After Effects or just stick with Photoshop. Since I had some experience with After Effects from other courses, I thought it would be a good idea to use it again. I felt quite confident going in.

But once I started importing my PSD file, I kept running into problems. No matter how many times I tried, the layers kept showing up in the wrong sizes and positions—even though I ticked the box that’s supposed to retain the original layout. It got really frustrating and started slowing me down.

So eventually, I decided to switch over to Photoshop instead. Honestly, it turned out to be the better choice. Since all my design work was already done in Photoshop, I didn’t need to go through the hassle of exporting or moving between apps. Everything felt more straightforward and it saved me a lot of time.

Looking back, I’m glad I made that switch. This experience reminded me that it’s okay to change direction when things don’t work out—and sometimes, the simpler option is the smarter one.

Reflective Writing :

This experience reminded me that being flexible is important. Even if I had a plan, it’s okay to change direction when something isn’t working. Sometimes, sticking with a simpler method can actually help bring out the best in the final outcome. And through this, I also learned to trust my own judgment a bit more.
