Fig 1.0 : After Effect
What is After Effects? Adobe After Effects is a 2.5D software used to create motion graphics, visual effects, and animation. It's popular in film, video, and online media for adding effects, moving text, and animating characters or objects. In this project, I used After Effects to animate layered elements like characters and backgrounds.
Compositing Layers in Photoshop Before importing into After Effects, I designed and organized all my visual elements in Photoshop. Each object (e.g., flower, face, hand) was placed on its own layer. - I renamed layers clearly (e.g., “flower_head,” “face_eyes”) to make animation easier and more organized later.
Compositing Layers in After Effects Once the Photoshop file was imported into After Effects, each layer stayed separate. This allowed me to animate each part independently (e.g., petals moving, eyes blinking). - Keeping layers neat and named properly helped me work faster and more clearly during animation.
Why This Workflow Matters Easy to Animate: Separate layers mean more control over how things move. Better Organization: Naming and sorting makes the animation process smoother. Professional Results: Clean layer setup leads to more polished animations.

Reflective Writing :
When we were introduced to After Effects, I was able to understand it quite easily because I already had some experience using it in other courses. I was familiar with the basic tools and shortcuts, as I had explored them in my previous projects. However, I’m still a beginner and can only create simple animations for now. I’m continuing to learn and improve so I can create more advanced and polished animations in the future.
