Lectures: No lecture this week

Tutorial/Practical:

This week, we had two digital imaging exercises to work on. Since there was no class, Mr. Fauzi shared tutorial videos to guide us through the Hearst Mansion exercise. After following along and completing the Shazam version of the Hearst Mansion, we were asked to recreate the same effect using one of our own photos.

For the second part, we learned how to recolor black-and-white photos in Photoshop. Again, we were given helpful demo videos, along with a set of images from Mr. Fauzi in Google Docs to create our own recolored versions. Even without a live class, the videos made the process clear and easy to follow.

Reflective Writing

In today’s class, I have learned about many things, to be honest it is a little difficult, I did struggled while trying to do the recoloring part, but I did managed to do it. For the first task, I think that it is much easier compared to the second task. Throughout following the tutorial videos , the process was smooth and I also did managed to find a picture of me that is suitable for the background as the lighting and everything is fitting the background.

However, when moving to the second task, problems are encountered, I cannot really understand what is going on and my output is not like what it should be in the tutorial video. I need to replay the tutorial video in slower speed and search up on google and find more detailed tutorial videos. But in the end I still did figured out how everything works and I even learned how to use some shortcuts in Photoshop.

Through this process, I found out then both easy and difficult sides of Photoshop tools but I am happy to learn about it as I believe it could help me to become a more professional designer in the future. Even though I am still not very good in using Photoshop and the techniques I have learned in this week, I still believe that if I do more practice I will become better in it.
